The cake came back up

Which was too bad,
because it took a long time to make.
It was baked and baked again and frosted and kept in the fridge.
But sometimes the vomit needs to come up,
it’s a technical thing,
within the body. I think.

With the stomach you never know.
I imagine it contracts when you throw up, but I’d have to do a little more research,
and right now I don’t really want to do the research.

After the cake other things came up,
that I didn’t think could still be there:
like an orange and some pomegranate seeds
an old book I hadn’t picked up in a while by Bill Wallace
half chewed gum, fully chewed gum, a gobstopper.
