I drove in the dark.
It usually took 30 minutes, but I found on this sleepy morning,
it only took 25.
The coffee shop was more alive than any in the tiny college town I usually attended.
Here there were old people, up early early early, to share a drink.
High school students picking up breakfast on the way to school.
Business women on their way to work, grabbing venti iced coffee in the 30 degree weather.
And as I finished up my work, and watched the sunrise in the suburbs,
I knew that, at least for now, this would be okay.
